About me

I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. I got my Masters in Computer Science at Universite de Bourgogne, France, where I studied Computer Vision focusing on 3D geometry. I got my B.Eng. in Electronics and Communication at Tribhuvan University in Nepal.

CV

Here is my CV.

About my current Work

I work under Prof. George Bebis in Computer Vision Laboratory CVL at UNR. Currently, I am working on vision system of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The vision system that I am designing is for search opertaion of victims in disaster stricken areas. The UAV has two onboard sensors, a multispectral camera and a RGB camera. My research consitutes of two subtasks related to computer vision- (1) object detection and (2) localization. The first task is to detect victims. Primarily in this task we are focusing on fusing multi-spectral images with visible images to aid detection. Once victims are detected, the second task is to localize victims on some sort of 3D maps. Currently we are planning to localize victims on digital elevation models (DEMs) since DEMs for almost all of the United States are available.
